TOO FAST

My precious baby is getting too big, too fast!!! He has learned how to climb up the play area at Chick-fil-a all by himself!!! Now I don't have to crawl inside that tiny tube to help him.

My First PB and J

While we were in Tennessee for Christmas Hampton got to enjoy his first peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He really enjoyed it!
We also got to enjoy an evening of fine dining Yarbrough style to celebrate Grand Connie's birthday. Hampton got to see his cousin Charles, who absolutely loves Hampton. Charles even bought Hampton a Christmas present with his own money...sweet boy. Hampton loves his tractor and trailer...especailly with the animals. Thanks Charles.

He is C-R-A-Z-Y about his Uncle Bob!!!

Christmas in Tennessee

Due to my desire to make my blog spectacular, I have put off blogging because I am SO far behind. Not only have many events occured, but Hampton is learning and growing faster than ever. This post may not be as detailed as I would have liked, but at this point it is necessary to sacrifice detail to simply catch up. I ran into a sweet friend at Biblestudy this week who asked if everything was okay. She was worried about me because I hadn't updated in so long. Here goes...

We spent 2 weeks in Tennessee for Christmas this year. Everyone was there for a super fun filled holiday. Everyone means 10 adults and 10 kiddos under 8...all in one house. It may sound extremely overwhelming, but somehow it really works. Gran and Poppy recently finished out the basement which added sleeping for the big kids, a fresh and clean play area, a great bathroom (with a tub that all 5 big girls could bathe in at once), and a media room. Needless to say, the kids spent most of their time down there. The weather was uncharacteristically warm which allowed us to play outdoors more than usual in December. Hampton did really well and would play downstrairs just like the big kids. Several of the big kids didn't pay much attention to him and the others thought he was a human doll. They were GREAT with him. He and Carrigan (2.5 months older) butted heads once or twice, but after that Carrigan would freak if Hampton got near her. I can't blame her since he did tend to hit her and even bit her once.

Christmas morning was crazy and Hampton was more interested in Campbell's race track than his own gifts from Santa. But now that we are home he loves all of his new toys.
We made a few trips to the barn to see the puppies. Hampton enjoyed petting the puppies for about 2 seconds, and then he was off to see the tractors...still one of his favorites!

After one of our trips to the barn all the cousins went to visit Ma and Papa and play in Ma's playroom.
In the past few months I have witnesses something amazing...Grandkids absolutely love their grandparents even if they don't get to see them on a regular basis. I guess they can just feel how much they are loved!

During our time in TN, Hampton discovered another love...Choo Choo Trains. If he was upstairs, all he wanted to do was play with the choo choo...either the real model train around the bottow of the Christmas tree or the Thomas the Train set in the toy chest. He wasn't supposed the touch the model and needed help with the track for Thomas. He has a fantastic Aunt Kelly who spent precious time with just Hampton. I am so thankful for such intentional Aunts and Uncles!!!

We also had a wild and crazy New Year's Eve dance party at about 8:30. I wish we had gotten H dancing on tape...too funny. He loved the music and the party poppers!

Christmas in OKC

We had a great time celebrating Christmas in OKC with my family.  We killed 2 birds with one stone by celebrating the same weekend as Drew's college graduation.  It is so hard to believe my little brother has graduated from college and is working in the real world.  He is living in Dallas and we love getting to see him more often.  I must admit, we were thankful he graduated in December so we didn't have to fight Hampton through a super long ceremony.  He did well, but we were glad he didn't have to be quiet.  He and Ben made laps around the building, played with horses and ate fruit.  Hampton was facinated by seeing snow for the first time.  He saw it falling on Sweeties black dress and looked at it like,"What is that stuff?"

We celebrated Christmas Saturday evening with a yummy dinner and presents.  My parents blew my socks off with a new fancy camers...A CANON REBEL.  I am so excited to take some really great pictures.  We also got a tent.  We can't wait for warmer weather so we can go camping as a family...what memories we will make!  The star of the show, as usual, was Hampton.  He was so excited about his tractors that he didn't realize how neat his bulldozer shirt and tractor backpack were.  The backpack is now his favorite.  He always says, "Bapa, on!" Santa also got him a tree wheeler ride toy that he really liked.  Most of the gifts from Sweetie and Pops are for their house and most of them are for outside, which is a dream for Hampton.

My precious boys!!!
Hampton passed the time by "feeding" his horses grapes.

Poor Ben, someone had to take the picture.

Obviously my pictures aren't in order, but we had a great time and look forward to many more fun Christmas' with Sweetie, Pops and UD.

Baby Powder

I have lots to blog about our wonderful Christmas, but I have to share this first.

Ben and I were working on something in the office this morning while Hampton was playing in his room. He was playing so quietly that I thought I'd better check on him. Anticipating a funny sight, I grabbed the video camera (not the one I now how to upload to blogger...bummer, I know). I did not, however, anticipate this...

Yes he did!
He emptied an entire bottle of baby powder everywhere possible between the den and the guest room.

He decided to try a new art form...on top of the treasured "Papa's Trunk." No worries, everything was fine and especially baby fresh.

My favorite part of it all was his tiny foot prints in the powder.
When I called his name, he came out of the guest room with a proud smile on his face as if to say "Look what I've been doing."
When I asked if he had fun with the baby powder, he boldly nodded yes.
"Did you make a mess?"
"Meth, meth" he replied, as he continued to nod yes.

Later, this afternoon I noticed a white runny nose...must have breathed some of that powder :).

Precious boy, just having fun and exploring the new world around him.

:(

I know I haven't blogged in forever. This will be a disappointment, but I will blog when I get home from TN. This entry is for my records...
Hampton just bit his cousin Carrigan...and broke the skin.
I am a bit distraught...do I have a biter on my hands?

Costumes! Costumes! Costumes!

Hampton got to wear his costume 3 TIMES this year. Last year I didn't even waste money on one, but this year I found one at a resale shop. I thought he was a pretty cute purple people eater!

First, he wore his costume to Aubren's Party.

Next, he got to be a purple people eater at a local retirement center.

We passed out candy and waved.enjoying an oh so rare sucker

Finally, we got to go trick-or-treating. At first, Hampton wasn't too sure about the whole trick-or-treating thing, but once he figured out that knocking on the door meant smiling faces, lots of attention and something in his jack-o-lantern...he was all over it. He and Caleb and Hailey (our 5th grade neighbor) had lots of fun. Hailey asked early in the week if she could trick-or-treat with Hampton and then her mom came over on halloween to tell us that Hailey was really wanting to go with Hampton. Of course, we were excited for her to go with us. Caleb was really cute, but wanted to eat all of his candy as soon as he got it. Jamie and Cory had to take it away immediately. By the end of the block, he was having melt downs b/c he wanted his candy so badly. H had no clue what it was. He was just excited to have something in his bag. Fun memories!!!

MORE PICS TO COME...silly thing won't let me download right now.
