Baby Powder

I have lots to blog about our wonderful Christmas, but I have to share this first.

Ben and I were working on something in the office this morning while Hampton was playing in his room. He was playing so quietly that I thought I'd better check on him. Anticipating a funny sight, I grabbed the video camera (not the one I now how to upload to blogger...bummer, I know). I did not, however, anticipate this...

Yes he did!
He emptied an entire bottle of baby powder everywhere possible between the den and the guest room.

He decided to try a new art form...on top of the treasured "Papa's Trunk." No worries, everything was fine and especially baby fresh.

My favorite part of it all was his tiny foot prints in the powder.
When I called his name, he came out of the guest room with a proud smile on his face as if to say "Look what I've been doing."
When I asked if he had fun with the baby powder, he boldly nodded yes.
"Did you make a mess?"
"Meth, meth" he replied, as he continued to nod yes.

Later, this afternoon I noticed a white runny nose...must have breathed some of that powder :).

Precious boy, just having fun and exploring the new world around him.

:(

I know I haven't blogged in forever. This will be a disappointment, but I will blog when I get home from TN. This entry is for my records...
Hampton just bit his cousin Carrigan...and broke the skin.
I am a bit distraught...do I have a biter on my hands?

Costumes! Costumes! Costumes!

Hampton got to wear his costume 3 TIMES this year. Last year I didn't even waste money on one, but this year I found one at a resale shop. I thought he was a pretty cute purple people eater!

First, he wore his costume to Aubren's Party.

Next, he got to be a purple people eater at a local retirement center.

We passed out candy and waved.enjoying an oh so rare sucker

Finally, we got to go trick-or-treating. At first, Hampton wasn't too sure about the whole trick-or-treating thing, but once he figured out that knocking on the door meant smiling faces, lots of attention and something in his jack-o-lantern...he was all over it. He and Caleb and Hailey (our 5th grade neighbor) had lots of fun. Hailey asked early in the week if she could trick-or-treat with Hampton and then her mom came over on halloween to tell us that Hailey was really wanting to go with Hampton. Of course, we were excited for her to go with us. Caleb was really cute, but wanted to eat all of his candy as soon as he got it. Jamie and Cory had to take it away immediately. By the end of the block, he was having melt downs b/c he wanted his candy so badly. H had no clue what it was. He was just excited to have something in his bag. Fun memories!!!

MORE PICS TO COME...silly thing won't let me download right now.

TROUBLE?

I had to take Hampton to the doctor last week. He was running a fever, had a cough and a yucky runny nose. Turns out it was a sinus infection and the early stages of an ear infection. No big deal...nothing some antibiotics and Musinex won't fix. After the doctor left to write the script, while I was getting Hampton dressed I overheard the doctor and nurse talking. Their conversation went something like this:

Doctor-"That little boy sure is cute, but he is trouble."
Nurse-"He is busy, isn't he?"
Doctor-"He is going to be a mess, the kind who will climb on everything and get into everything he shouldn't."
Nurse-"She does have her hands full!"

I had to laugh...they are right...he is CUTE-he is busy-he is a mess, but he is no trouble!!! I even felt a bit proud of my precious boy. Ben brought up the point that if H had any other set of parents he might be trouble, but we will "train him in the way he should go." I have two amazing boys in my life...I am overwhelmingly thankful!!!

More Fall Fun

On October 25 our playgroup went to Owen's Farm. During the month of October they have a pumpkin patch, petting zoo and hayrides. The kids loved being able to run free. Here are some of the highlights. Once again, I LOVE FALL!!!

October 19

We spent most of my birthday at Oklahoma State. It was homecoming, so we were all decked out in our OSU gear. We got there early (for dinner) to get our name on the list at Eskimo Joe's. At 5 there was already a 2.5 hour wait. Jerry and the girls were with us and Jerry wanted to walk around campus.

He graduated from OSU and Olivia, who is 9, says she wants to go there too. Of course, Jerry was amazed at how much the campus had changed. We saw all the construction on the new stadium and of course the cranes caught Hampton's eye. After our trip around campus, on our way to pick out a new OSU shirt for Olivia, we stopped to watch the band. Hampton was mesmerized...uh oh!!! We still had time to kill before dinner so we walked around to look at some of the homecoming house dec. Hampton was tired of riding around in his stroller, so Sweetie stayed in the common area with him to play. Pretty cute little OSU football player, huh? Dinner was great because it was really loud so no one could hear H. We sat at a tall table so he had to sit in his stroller below us. He did really well though. He thought he was so special when he got to finish Carolina's lemonade out of her BIG cup...it's the simple things right.
Olivia's new shirt

Hampton got a little fussy during the walk around because he was EXHAUSTED. No nap + 9:30pm + super stimulation = asleep before we could get his pjs on him. Sweet boy! The best seat in the house...

Way Behind!

Wow! I can't believe my last entry was from October 15th. So much has happened since then. I think I'll tell you through pictures.

Ben went on his annual golf trip with family and friends, so Hampton and I went to OKC and OSU homecoming again. From the second H got out of bed he was asking to go outside. He would make the sounds of every animal he could think of - cat, dog, cow, horse, elephant, gorilla, monkey, etc.- and ask to go see them. My mom was gracious to let me sleep while she played with Hampton. We had lots of really dirty PJ's when we got home, because he couldn't even wait to change before he started to play.

Here he is playing on the screened in porch watching the dogs.

Sweetie and Pops have lots of fun things to play with at their house...

horses...

Big play toys...
Slides...

Wagons...

Kitty Cats...

Airplane swings...

Little chairs...
Firetrucks...that sound like real ones...

Fun ride toys...

Puppy dogs...
A fancy bathtub...
that has a faucet that looks like a telephone...

push toys...

and fireplace ashes.
But best of all...UD and COUSINS.

We had so much fun! I am so thankful that Hampton has grandparents that love him so much and are able to spoil him just a little bit. We are looking forward to our next trip to Sweetie and Pop's house.
